- POSITION SUMMARY**:
- ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Respond to emergency incidents when dispatched by the Emergency Communications Center.
- Attend Special Operations Team Training or other training to maintain skills as a Rescue Technician and/or Hazardous Materials Technician as required by the Special Operations Standard Operating Guidelines.
- Staff apparatus and special teams for planned or predicted events as needed.
- Ability to wear appropriate personal protective equipment and perform related tasks, including using Self-contained breathing apparatus.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and follow standard operating procedures or guidelines.
- May Serve as an activated employee for the county Emergency Operations Center or field incident, including nights and weekends.
- Conduct damage assessment after a disaster when requested.
- Display professionalism while operating with or representing the Bucks County Special Operations Team.
- Performs other related duties as assigned in support of the Division of Emergency Services.

- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- Minimum of three years of experience in firefighting or other Emergency Services Disciplines.
- NIMS Certifications ICSl00, ICS200, ICS700, ICS 800.
- Hazardous Materials Operations- ProBoard/lFSAC
- Valid CPR & First Aid Certification
- Operations Level Training in at least one technical rescue discipline preferred. (Rope Rescue, Trench, Confined Space, Structural Collapse)
- Complete PA Fish and Boat Water Rescue and Emergency Response within six months.
- Achieve Technician Level Certification in Hazmat or a Tech Rescue discipline within one year of hire.
- Required to pass the annual medical exam as required by the Special Operations Team Procedures.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
- Strong time management skills; ability to carry out orders with precision and speed.
- Ability to make decisions quickly and accurately.
- Able to perform efficiently under pressure.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and/or projects simultaneously with minimal direction or supervision.
- Ability to maintain organization and prioritization of a variety of tasks and data.
- The employee may work in a high-stress emergent environment that will require calm critical decision-making processes.
- The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration and risk of electrical shock. The employee occasio ally works with explosives and may be exposed to radiation.
