What are the responsibilities and job description for the Groundskeeper position at County of Blair?
Under general supervision, our hire cares for and maintains buildings, trails, and grounds at Valley View Park on a seasonal basis so that each is in a neat, attractive, and safe condition.
Qualified applicants must hold a high school diploma or GED; be at least 18 years old; possess a minimum of one year's hands-on experience in grounds keeping, landscaping, construction work, maintenance, or other directly related field; knowledge of variety of building maintenance procedures and techniques; knowledge of machinery, equipment, and tools necessary for maintenance and repair of hard and soft surfaces; valid Pennsylvania driver's license and a clean MVR; keen attention to detail; diligence, initiative, and pride in work done well. Work must be performed on site in Altoona, PA, and we cannot provide work visa sponsorship. Applicants will need clearances to comply with Child Protective Services law by time of hire.
The hiring range for this seasonal, nonexempt position is $16.08/hour, and hours will not exceed 880 hours per anniversary year. The season typically runs April to October. Benefits package does not apply to this title. EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER
