We're hiring a Plant Maintenance Technician to join County Materials Corporation in Janesville, WI.
Job Summary:
The Plant Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting safe, efficient, and continuous manufacturing operations in a fast-paced production environment. This role is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing manufacturing equipment and facility systems, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal equipment performance.
The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, works well under pressure, and partners closely with production, engineering, and safety teams to achieve uptime, quality, and safety goals.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair manufacturing and production equipment during active operations
- Perform planned preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Respond quickly to emergency and unplanned equipment failures to minimize downtime
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards, policies, and documentation requirements
- Conduct general steel fabrication and welding for equipment repair and installation
- Read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and work orders
- Use hand tools, power tools, meters, welders, torches, and material-handling equipment
- Weld and install parts on machinery as needed
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas
- Source parts and supplies, obtain quotes, and install components as required
- Communicate and coordinate with vendors and contractors to support equipment maintenance and installation

Experience & Qualifications: (Required or Preferred)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in plant or manufacturing equipment maintenance
- Strong hands-on experience with hydraulic, mechanical, and welding systems, including hydraulic pumps, electric motors, conveyor systems, steel fabrication, and overhead cranes
- Proven ability to work as a proactive, self-motivated, and multi-tasked team player with a positive attitude
- Solid understanding of industrial maintenance environments and production equipment
- Electrical license preferred, but not required
Work Environment:
- Work in indoor and outdoor weather conditions, including extreme hot or cold temperatures
- Work near moving machinery and equipment - could include electrical hazards
- Work in a noisy environment
