What are the responsibilities and job description for the Refinery Operator position at Countrymark Refining and Logistics?
Responsible for monitoring the operations of plant equipment in the CountryMark refinery, which includes evaluating the operating status and performing troubleshooting of processes and equipment in order to maximize unit reliability and quality production. This position operates on a rotating shift schedule. Candidates must be able to work all shifts as well as holidays and weekends.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to the following):
- Ensure personal safety and the safety of coworkers and promote a safe work environment.
- Carry out all work activities in compliance with federal and state environmental regulations.
- Perform duties in adherence with CountryMark procedures, standards, and specifications.
- Learn and retain process knowledge of the process changes to the refinery in order to enable effective operation and detection of unusual process conditions. Effectively use this knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Provide accurate and timely communication to coworkers.
- Exhibit personal leadership in daily activities, task planning, incident investigations and work performance.
- Ensure production rates and right-first-time results are maximized, and ensure the refinery is maintained in proper operating condition.
- Record data readings, utilize plant data and control systems and observe process conditions on a continual basis.
- Ensure that systems are in a safe condition for maintenance work, and support maintenance activities and communicate the status to the shift supervisor and coworkers.
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to the following):
- Perform minor maintenance on equipment and enter work notifications on equipment in need of maintenance.
- Provide ideas, raise concerns, and work with other functions including plant management, engineering, and maintenance to improve individual and unit performance.
- Participate on committees dealing with investigations, policy and procedure development and improving the work place environment.
- Participate in the training and skill development of other operations technicians.
- Engage in frequent developmental dialog with supervisor and others to continually enhance personal and group performance and development.
Job Qualifications (refers to job, not incumbent):
Education: High School Diploma required
Experience: 3-5 years of related experience preferred
WorkKeys Testing: Demonstrate proficiency in the Work Keys Assessment by achieving the following scores:
- Applied Math: 6
- Graphic Literacy:4
- Applied Technology:4
Note: To be considered for this position you must take the WorkKeys at Work One prior to August 1, 2025 and achieve the minimum scores listed above.
Other:
- Knowledge of mechanical or technical processing in a heavy equipment or heavy industrial setting.
