What are the responsibilities and job description for the Prep Cook position at COUNTRY KITCHEN RESTAURANT?
Country Kitchen Restaurant in Hutchinson is currently hiring for the position of Prep Cook.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
❖ Wears approved uniform and maintains appearance according to CKI standards. ❖ Reports to work for scheduled shifts on time and with a smile.
❖ Has the ability to handle multiple tasks at once.
Works frequently in hot environment.
❖ Assists with Dishwasher duties.
❖ Receives, stores and handles food products following the correct Country Kitchen procedures.
❖ Inspects prep area, completes daily prep lists, and pulls items from freezer.
❖ Prepares food items for service.
❖ Portions and handles food products safely and according to CK Procedures.
❖ Rotates using the FIFO System.
❖ Performs quality checks and temperature checks throughout the shift.
❖ Practices clean-as-you-go while working and completes assigned opening and closing duties.
❖ Prepares items safely and correctly using a variety of equipment and utensils.
❖ Ensures that the buffet is set up, restocked and torn down in a timely manner.
❖ Demonstrates Teamwork by assisting in all areas of the Back of the House.
❖ Possesses a Sense of Urgency with all tasks.
❖ Completes assigned side work duties in a timely manner.
❖ Empties trash receptacles and places in dumpsters on a regular basis.
❖ Checks & cleans restrooms; sweeps and mops floors as needed.
❖ Assists in removing debris from the parking lot and landscaping.
❖ Demonstrates good hand dexterity needed to lift, carry and sort items.
❖ Has the ability to continuously lift up to 50 pounds. Must be able to reach up to high shelving and stoop to lower shelving, while lifting weight up to 20 pounds.
❖ Has the ability to operate brooms and mops.
❖ Has the ability to take verbal direction.
❖ Basic reading, math and writing skills are required.
❖ Learns and follows sanitation and safety practices required in the Food Service Industry.
❖ Has a friendly personality required to properly interact with Guests and fellow Team Members.
❖ Previous experience preferred, but not required.
