Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Cook/Kitchen Manager to oversee our Kitchen in our family restaurant. The ideal candidate will bring cooking experience, strong leadership skills, and a passion for delivering a consistent product. This role involves managing kitchen staff, ensuring food safety standards, and preparing high-quality meals that meet our standards for taste and presentation. The Cook/Kitchen Manager will play a vital role in maintaining efficient kitchen operations while fostering a positive team atmosphere.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise kitchen staff to ensure smooth daily operations
- Prepare and cook a variety of meals with attention to quality, presentation, and consistency
- Manage labor and food costs to achieve profit goals.
- Follow and ensure staff are adhering to our Franchise standards.
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and food handling processes to ensure safety and sanitation standards are met
- Manage inventory, order supplies, and maintain proper storage of ingredients
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness in all kitchen areas
- Train staff on proper food handling techniques, and kitchen best practices
- Monitor food quality during service to uphold high standards of taste and presentation
- Collaborate with management on on managing costs and areas from improvement.
Experience
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen management within a restaurant or similar food industry setting.
- Experience with a family restaurant setting.
- Demonstrated knowledge of food safety protocols and proper food handling procedures
- Familiarity with cooking techniques, knife skills, meal preparation, and food service operations
- Previous supervisory or managerial experience in a kitchen environment preferred
