Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Peer Specialist to join our team. Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one peer support to individuals in recovery, sharing personal experiences to inspire hope and resilience.
  • Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to help clients set and achieve personal goals related to their mental health or substance use recovery.
  • Assist clients in navigating behavioral health systems, including accessing resources and services for mental health counseling, addiction counseling, and crisis management.
  • Facilitate group sessions that promote peer support, education, and skill-building in areas such as crisis intervention and coping strategies.
  • Collaborate with other professionals in the field of social work and mental health counseling to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions and progress in accordance with organizational policies.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills in mentoring and crisis intervention.

Experience

  • Certification as a Peer Specialist is required.
  • Previous experience in mentoring or providing peer support within behavioral health settings is preferred.
  • Familiarity with motivational interviewing techniques and crisis management strategies is highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • A commitment to promoting recovery-oriented practices within the community.
