Role Description The VP of Communications is a full-time, remote role, responsible for leading Co5’s overall communications strategy and execution. This role oversees corporate messaging, media and public relations activities, and internal and external communications to ensure consistent, brand-aligned narratives. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing strategic communications plans, crafting high-impact press materials, guiding response strategies to emerging issues, and partnering with product, marketing, and leadership teams to translate complex AI insights into clear, compelling stories. The VP of Communications will manage relationships with media outlets and key stakeholders, provide coaching on spokesperson readiness, and establish metrics to evaluate communication outcomes. This position also involves shaping thought leadership initiatives, refining crisis communication protocols, and contributing to the evolution of Co5’s brand voice.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in Strategic Communications and Corporate Communications, including developing and executing organization-wide communication plans.
- Strong Public Relations and Media Relations skills, with experience building relationships with journalists, managing inquiries, and securing coverage.
- Proficiency in drafting and reviewing Press Releases and other external communication materials that align with brand and business objectives.
- Proven experience leading crisis communications and reputation management efforts in fast-paced or complex environments.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical or AI-driven insights into accessible messaging.
- Experience overseeing or guiding communications teams, agencies, or cross-functional partners.
- Familiarity with analytics and measurement tools to assess communication impact and inform strategy.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Business, or a related field; advanced degree or equivalent experience is a plus.
- Background in technology, AI, data-driven products, or crisis communications is highly beneficial.
