Position Summary:
We are seeking a qualified, responsible, and organized Site Supervisor to lead the daily operations of our before and after school program. This position plays a critical role in ensuring a safe, engaging, and structured environment for children while supervising staff and overseeing program activities. The ideal candidate will have both direct child care experience and administrative training or background.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operation of the program site, including staff supervision, child safety, and activity coordination
- Ensure compliance with licensing standards and organizational policies
- Supervise and support child care associates and assistants
- Maintain accurate records, including attendance, incident reports, and staff schedules
- Communicate effectively with parents, school personnel, and administrative staff
- Monitor supply inventories and ensure materials are organized and accessible
- Implement and enforce health, safety, and emergency procedures
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the site
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least 21 years of age
- High school diploma, GED, or higher education
- Completed at least one of the following:
- One course in business administration
- 12 contact hours in administrative-related training (personnel, supervision, record keeping, or budgeting)
- One year of administrative-related experience
- Current certification in: (preferred but we will provide training)
- Infant, child, and adult CPR
- First Aid
- Iowa’s Mandatory Child Abuse Reporter Training
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask, solve problems, and manage time efficiently
- Positive attitude and commitment to creating a safe, nurturing environment for children
- Position requires active participation with children including playground activities, and some lifting (up to 50Lbs), squatting and fine and large motor movements.
Preferred Qualifications (Not Required):
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in education, child development, recreation, or a related field
- Previous experience managing a licensed child care or school-age program
- Familiarity with Iowa child care licensing requirements
Work Schedule:
- Monday-Friday, 6:30am-9:00am, Monday, 1:30pm-6:00pm and Tuesday-Friday 3:15pm-6:00pm
- Occasional training, staff meetings, or special events outside standard hours
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
