Coulson Aviation operates a fleet of large aerial firefighting assets consisting of both fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft. With a fleet consisting of Boeing 737 FIRELINERS™, Hercules C130, Citation, King Air, CH-47D Chinooks and UH-60 Blackhawks, we provide rapid response capabilities using our aviation assets across the globe. We currently produce, maintain and operate the fleet throughout Canada, the USA, Chile and Australia.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
As the Safety Analyst at Coulson Aviation, you will report directly to the Safety Manager, playing a vital role in executing our safety programs and ensuring strict alignment with aviation regulations and industry standards.
This position is a cornerstone of our Safety Management System (SMS). You will focus on data-driven insights—managing reporting requirements, processing audits, and analyzing safety trends—to foster a proactive safety culture. Your work ensures that risk is effectively managed across flight operations, maintenance, and ground handling, keeping our entire operation secure and compliant.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Safety Management System (SMS): Support the Safety Manager in maintaining and continuously improving the SMS to ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational standards.
- Policy Development: Organize and maintain safety policies, procedures, and guidelines across all operational areas, ensuring they are archived and accessible for revision and teammate reference.
- Risk Management: Collaborate with the safety team to identify, analyze, and mitigate operational risks using proactive hazard detection tools. Provide On-the-Job Training (OJT) to teammates on these tools as required.
- Audits & Compliance: Review and document internal safety audits to ensure adherence to FAA, CASA, and other relevant regulatory bodies.
- Incident Investigation: Assist in documenting investigations and root cause analyses to implement effective corrective actions.
- Data Analysis: Monitor safety data to identify trends, develop preventive measures, and formulate predictive strategies to address emerging risks.
- Training & Culture: Promote a positive organizational safety culture and coordinate with the Training Department to oversee employee compliance with safety training programs.
- Reporting: Prepare and deliver timely safety reports and actionable recommendations to the safety team and senior leadership.
Compensation for this position will be competitive with market rates and based on experience.
