Shipping Clerk

The Cotterman Company is the largest manufacturer of rolling metal and fixed metal ladders in North America. We are looking for motivated Shipping Clerks to perform various shipping functions including packaging, crating, and loading of products. Responsibilities:

• Assist the Shipping Lead meet daily shipping, inventory management and quality goals.
• Ability to identify all Cotterman products and load outgoing freight in a manner to limit potential shipping damage.
• Ability to inspect finished ladders to ensure shipment of quality products to customers.
• Assist with packaging of finished products and parts.
• Assist Shrink Wrapping, Crating and KD as needed.
• Ability to read, understand and process shipping documents.
• Select proper products and ensure parts match with shipping orders.
• Coordinate with Traffic Dept. and when needed, call truck lines for pickups.
• Assure that all trucks are secured with wheel chocks and have support stations properly engaged.
• Follow safety rules and procedures and maintain a neat work area.
• Assist with tagging and packaging of finished products and parts, while correctly identifying any customer's special instructions.
• Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school graduate or equivalent desired.
• Prior experience in a manufacturing shipping department.
• Strong knowledge of Cotterman products and parts.
• Demonstrated ability to work productively.
• Reliable with excellent attendance record.
• Ability to obtain a forklift operator license.
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 pounds).
• Ability to promote and work as a team member to meet organizational goals.
• Ability to operate Company Computer systems.
