We are currently seeking a Sheet Metal Apprentice for our Melbourne prefabircation shop. These helpers will be eligible for our in-house, FREE apprentice program! Apprenticeship is a combination of on-the-job training and related classroom instruction in which the workers learn the aspects of a trade, while they earn a living. 1-2 years of duct installation experience preferred but will train the right candidate. The role of an apprentice is highly hands-on, focusing on skill development and readiness for more advanced responsibilities. Dedication, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn are critical to success in this position. Employer conducts background checks, motor vehicle checks and drug screening. This is a safety sensitive position

Learning and Training
- On-the-Job Training: Work under the guidance of experienced mechanics to learn techniques for cutting, shaping, and installing sheet metal.
- Learn blueprint reading and how to read specs
- Tool Usage: Learn how to safely and efficiently operate hand tools, power tools, and machinery like shears, brakes, and rollers.
- Measuring and Marking: Assist with measuring and marking materials according to specifications.
- Cutting and Forming: Help cut, shape, and assemble sheet metal components.
- Material Handling: Transport and organize materials for fabrication and installation.
- Ductwork Installation: Assist in installing HVAC duct systems, vents, and hoods in commercial buildings.
- Metal Roofing: Support the installation of metal roofs, flashing, and gutters.
- Fastening Components: Secure sheet metal parts using screws, bolts, rivets, or welds.
- Inspection: Observe and assist in inspecting installations for damage or wear.
- Repair Tasks: Help with basic repairs, such as replacing damaged sections or resealing joints.
- Safety Practices: Follow OSHA regulations and workplace safety guidelines.
- PPE Usage: Wear personal protective equipment, such as gloves, goggles, and helmets, during tasks.
- Hazard Awareness: Assist in maintaining a safe and clean workspace by properly handling tools and materials.
- Supporting the Crew: Provide assistance to mechanics and other team members to ensure projects stay on schedule.
- Learning Communication: Develop communication skills to effectively interact with supervisors and colleagues.
- Tool Care: Clean, maintain, and store tools and equipment after use.
- Equipment Setup: Assist in setting up and breaking down equipment at job sites.
- Climbing up and down ladders
- Push, pull and frequently carry objects as tools, materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl. – Stand and walk for long periods of time.
- See and hear well with or without correction to avoid safety hazards to themselves and others.
- Must be 18 or older
- Must have high school diploma or equivalent
- Must have clean and valid driver's license or permit and/or reliable transportation
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and able to complete Form I-9 upon hire.

- Overtime and weekend availability, regular attendance
- Work in heat and various other weather conditions
