Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Technician to join our team. As a Kennel Technician, you will be responsible for the daily care of animals in our facility, ensuring their health and well-being while maintaining cleanliness and organization within the kennel.
Duties
- Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, watering, and exercising dogs and other pets.
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels, including regular cleaning and sanitizing of cages, play areas, and equipment.
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff or management.
- Assist with basic grooming tasks such as bathing, brushing, and nail trimming as needed.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners regarding their pets' needs and well-being.
- Assist in managing records related to animal care, including feeding schedules, medication administration, and behavior notes.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure a positive environment for both animals and staff.
Experience
- Previous experience in animal handling or care is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
- Familiarity with dog training techniques or pet grooming is a plus.
- Experience as a veterinary technician or veterinary assistant is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Strong customer service skills are essential for interacting with pet owners effectively.
