Duties
- Provide daily walks and exercise for dogs of various sizes and temperaments, ensuring they receive proper stimulation and care.
- Assist with kennel cleaning, sanitation, feeding, and medication administration to maintain a safe and hygienic environment.
- Handle dogs safely using animal restraint techniques and ensure their comfort during grooming or veterinary procedures.
- Support pet owners through excellent customer service by updating them on their pets’ status and addressing any questions or concerns.
- Observe animals closely for signs of health issues or behavioral changes, reporting findings to veterinary staff when necessary.
- Assist with pet grooming tasks such as bathing, brushing, and nail trimming to keep animals looking and feeling their best.
- Support veterinary technicians or assistants with basic animal care tasks as needed, contributing to overall clinic or kennel operations.
Skills
- Proven experience in dog handling, pet sitting, or kennel work with a strong understanding of animal behavior.
- Knowledge of dog training techniques and veterinary experience is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform pet grooming tasks with patience and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with animal restraint methods and safe handling practices for various breeds and sizes.
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary, such as moving supplies or assisting with large dogs.
