We have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical and Instrument Mechanic to join our team at our Durant, Iowa facility!
What You’ll Do
- Conduct seasonal prep work including Annual Preventative Maintenance, Repairs, and Improvements
- Assure proper set-up, calibration, operation, and preventive maintenance of equipment, machines, and facilities
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, industrial machinery, and production equipment
- Perform electrical and maintenance functions necessary to maintain all service equipment (palletizers, conveyors, bagging equipment, bucket elevators, augers, HVAC, etc.)
- Accurately complete reports, logs, and maintain records on equipment
- Assist in the development, installation, and maintenance of new or enhanced mechanical and/or electrical equipment
- Make recommendations for improved safety through electrical programs and/or process changes including the addition of new devices and hardware
- Various other duties as assigned
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- You have knowledge or experience of the diagnosing and troubleshooting of power and electrical controls using AC and DC voltages ranging from 24V to 480V 3 Phase Motors and Controls
- You can accurately use Industrial Electronic Testing Equipment such as: Megger, Multimeter, Amp Meter, and other testing equipment as required
- You have a valid US driver’s license
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and diagrams
- You possess good computer aptitude including the use of Microsoft Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), and are willing and able to learn other company specific applications as required
- You are willing and able to perform the physical aspects of the job with or without reasonable accommodation: climb and/or work in elevated areas, stand and sit for extended periods, work outdoors and indoors in hot, cold, wet, and dry conditions, lift up to fifty (50) lbs., and perform work that involves repetitive motion and lifting
- You can work independently as well as in a team environment
- You have good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- You have high diligence, can multitask, maintain an organized workplace, and have excellent critical thinking skills
- You value health and safety! You will always work safely and follow all safety policies and procedures to ensure you, and your colleagues, go home safely every day
- You are willing and able to work a rotating shift, on-call availability, and overtime hours, which include nights and weekends during seasonal peaks to support production demand
- Two-Year Technical or Associates Degree in Mechanics, Industrial Electronics, Automation, or related field
- Military experience in Mechanics, Electricity, Power Distribution, or related field
- This position does NOT offer a relocation package
