The Store Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing the operations and fiscal health of the store.
Essential Job Functions include, but not limited to:
Ability to set daily expectations, align the team, follow up, and provide feedback through coaching to team members to improve performance
Ability to manage vendors to increase sales, improve inventory and maintain high service levels
Process paperwork and ensure that deposit is made daily
Monitor and communicate competitor fuel prices
Establish an environment where assets are protected
Ensure all equipment is operable
Recruiting, training, scheduling, supervising and appraising staff
Reviewing and approving employee timecards and vacation requests
Conducting performance reviews
Ability to handle disciplinary issues and take appropriate action, along with complete follow through
Managing the overall operational and financial responsibilities
Handling customer queries and complaints
Overseeing pricing and stock control
Maximizing profitability and meeting sales targets and budget goals
Ensuring compliance with company quality, safety, and environmental guidelines and legislation
Protecting employees and customers by providing a safe and clean store environment
Ability to operate cash register, computer, adding machine, and other basic office machines and equipment
Ability to talk, hear, stand for prolonged periods of time, walk, reach with arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, or crouch
Vision abilities required by this job include close vision
Ability to occasionally lift up to 30 pounds
Ability to enter and work in a cooler at a temperature of 40 degrees for up to 30 minutes
Ability to respond appropriately in an emergency or hazmat situation
Ability to handle high levels of stress
Regular and reliable attendance
Ability to operate in a constant state of alertness
Qualifications/Experience/Education
Ability to read, understand, and write the English language at the 12th Grade level
High School or equivalent education
Must have a valid driver's license
Up to 10% travel required
Ability to work 50 hours a week, including occasional nights, weekends, and holidays
Must be highly organized and have the ability to multi-task
Must possess strong leadership, management, team-building, and communication skills
Demonstrated knowledge of basic economic, budgeting, employment laws and practices, and accounting principles
