Industrial Account Manager – Itasca, IL
$85,000 - $110,000 Bonus Full Benefits
We are a well-established industrial manufacturer specializing in engineered process equipment and industrial component solutions used within high-performance production environments. For decades, we have partnered with OEMs, distributors, and manufacturing facilities across industries such as packaging, food processing, automation, material handling, plastics, and heavy industrial production.
We are seeking an Industrial Account Manager to support and grow customer relationships across assigned territories while serving as a key resource for technical product recommendations, quotations, and account development. This role will work closely with OEM customers, distributors, manufacturers’ representatives, and internal engineering teams to help drive both customer satisfaction and business growth.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Account Management & Business Development
- Manage and grow relationships with OEM, industrial, and end-user accounts within assigned territories
- Identify new business opportunities through outbound prospecting, inbound inquiries, trade show leads, and distributor partnerships
- Maintain consistent follow-up with customers to support ongoing sales opportunities and long-term account growth
- Partner with independent sales representatives and channel partners to maximize territory performance
Technical Sales Support
- Develop customer quotations, pricing proposals, and product recommendations based on application requirements
- Assist customers in identifying the best thermal and industrial product solutions for their operational needs
- Work closely with engineering and production teams regarding customized product specifications and modifications
- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and product specifications to support customer applications
Customer Service & Relationship Management
- Serve as a primary point of contact for customer inquiries, technical questions, and project updates
- Build strong relationships with engineers, maintenance personnel, purchasing teams, and operational leadership at customer sites
- Ensure a high level of responsiveness and professionalism throughout the sales and support process
- Evaluate customer needs and provide solutions aligned with company capabilities and policies
Territory & Operational Support
- Maintain accurate records of quotations, customer activity, and pipeline updates within internal systems
- Support trade show initiatives, lead follow-up efforts, and additional territory marketing activities
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and customer service teams to ensure seamless project execution
- Participate in ongoing product training and industry education to strengthen technical knowledge
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of technical industry experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in industrial sales, technical account management, applications support, or related manufacturing environments
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to work directly with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to understand industrial product applications, technical specifications, and customer operational requirements
- Comfortable reviewing technical drawings, blueprints, and engineering-related documentation
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM or quotation management systems
- Self-motivated, organized, and capable of managing multiple accounts and priorities simultaneously
- Previous experience within industrial manufacturing, OEM sales, thermal products, automation, electrical components, or process equipment industries is highly preferred
