Customer Support Specialist – Schaumburg, IL

We are currently seeking a Customer Support Specialist to join our team. This position will play a key role in supporting customers throughout the order process while ensuring accurate order management, timely communication, and a high level of customer satisfaction.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience within a manufacturing or distribution environment and enjoy working in a fast-paced setting that combines customer interaction, order coordination, and administrative support.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Customer Service & Account Support
- Respond to customer inquiries regarding orders, pricing, product availability, shipping updates, and general account questions
- Serve as a primary point of contact for customers via phone and email while providing professional and timely support
- Build and maintain positive customer relationships through consistent communication and follow-up
- Assist customers with returns, order changes, and issue resolution as needed
Order Entry & Order Management
- Process customer orders accurately from entry through shipment and invoicing
- Review purchase orders, pricing, lead times, and shipping information to ensure accuracy
- Monitor order status and proactively communicate updates or delays to customers
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure timely fulfillment of customer orders
Administrative & Operational Support
- Maintain accurate customer records, order documentation, and internal reports
- Support inventory visibility by communicating with warehouse and production teams regarding product availability
- Assist with data entry, reporting, and additional administrative tasks as needed
- Work cross-functionally with customer service, operations, production, and shipping teams to support smooth daily operations
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 1-2 years of customer service and order entry experience within a manufacturing, industrial, or distribution environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused mindset
- Experience processing orders, handling customer inquiries, and coordinating with internal teams
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP/order management systems preferred
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively
