IT Systems Engineer (Infrastructure / Windows / M365)
Type: Direct Hire
Location: Denton, TX
Work Setting: Onsite
Salary: $90,000 - $105,000 (depending on experience)
We are seeking a hands-on IT Systems Engineer to help build, improve, and support a growing infrastructure environment. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working across systems, infrastructure, and some networking in a high-growth, evolving environment.
This is not a siloed position — you’ll play a key part in strengthening systems, improving processes, and supporting overall infrastructure stability as the organization scales.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Support and improve Windows Server, Microsoft 365, and virtualized environments (Hyper-V)
- Manage backups, patching, and system hardening initiatives
- Monitor infrastructure performance and troubleshoot issues across systems and servers
- Assist with network-related efforts (firewalls, VPNs, switching), but not act as the primary network owner
- Provide Tier 2/3 support for infrastructure-related issues
- Help build and improve IT processes, documentation, and standards
- Support onboarding/offboarding, asset tracking, and hardware lifecycle management
- Contribute to cybersecurity improvements including access controls and vulnerability remediation
- Assist with scripting/automation efforts (PowerShell preferred)
What We’re Looking For
- 5 years of experience in IT systems administration / infrastructure engineering
- Strong experience with: Windows Server environments, Microsoft 365 administration, and Virtualization (Hyper-V preferred)
- Solid understanding of infrastructure fundamentals (servers, storage, backups)
- Exposure to networking (VPNs, firewalls, switching) – not a pure network engineer
- Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions
- Basic scripting experience (PowerShell preferred)
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working in a growing, evolving environment
Nice to Have
- Experience supporting engineering or manufacturing environments
- Familiarity with CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks)
- SQL experience
- Certifications (CompTIA, Microsoft, or networking vendors)
