IT Asset Management Lead (ITAM Lead)

Overview
We are seeking an experienced IT Asset Management Lead to own the full lifecycle of end-user computing (EUC) hardware assets. This opportunity will serve as a subject matter expert for hardware asset governance, ensuring inventory accuracy, cost optimization, and alignment with financial planning.
You will partner closely with IT Operations, Procurement, Finance, and Security to support forecasting, budgeting, and data-driven decision-making across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Asset Lifecycle Management
Manage the full lifecycle of end-user hardware assets: procurement, deployment, refresh, redeployment, and retirement
Maintain accurate inventory tracking and reconciliation across systems
Establish and enforce hardware standards, lifecycle policies, and refresh strategies
Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements
Monitor end-user experience metrics and adjust lifecycle strategies accordingly
Vendor Management
Manage relationships with hardware vendors and resellers
Evaluate vendor performance, pricing, and service quality
Support contract negotiations, including SLAs and delivery terms
Forecast hardware demand and maintain appropriate inventory levels
Project & Solution Delivery
Lead hardware deployment initiatives from planning through execution
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess hardware needs and implement solutions
Identify opportunities to improve processes and automate workflows
Research and evaluate emerging hardware technologies
Financial Management
Develop and manage hardware budgets, forecasts, and refresh plans
Partner with Finance on budget tracking, variance analysis, and forecasting
Provide insights to support decisions such as lease vs. purchase and vendor strategy
Identify cost optimization opportunities
Reporting & Documentation
Maintain documentation for asset lifecycle processes and vendor agreements
Generate reports on inventory, lifecycle status, vendor performance, and spend
Provide insights and recommendations to leadership
Qualifications
Required
7 years of experience in IT asset management, hardware asset management, or related field
Strong experience managing end-user hardware lifecycle (EUC)
Proven experience with vendor management and hardware procurement
Experience managing budgets, forecasting, and cost tracking
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills (Excel or similar tools)
Ability to lead initiatives and collaborate across teams
Preferred
Experience with tools such as ServiceNow, SCCM, Intune, or JAMF
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Adaptability to evolving technology and business need
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Advanced degree or certifications (e.g., PMP, ITIL) are a plus
