Location: Remote (U.S.)
Pay: $75,000 Base Salary $110 per Closed Loan File
Schedule: Full-Time | Eastern Time Zone Hours
CornerStone Staffing is seeking experienced Remote Senior Loan Officer Assistants for a growing mortgage organization. Schedule
- Standard schedules typically align with Eastern Time Zone business hours (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST)

Key Responsibilities
- Calculated borrower income and debt-to-income (DTI) ratios to ensure loan eligibility and compliance with underwriting guidelines.
- Reviewed and interpreted Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and FHA lending guidelines to accurately structure and process residential mortgage loans.
- Evaluated income, assets, liabilities, credit reports, and supporting documentation to determine loan qualification under Conventional and FHA loan programs.
- Applied Fannie Mae (FNMA) and Freddie Mac (FHLMC) eligibility requirements to identify and resolve documentation or underwriting issues prior to submission.
- Verified borrower documentation and calculated qualifying income for salaried, hourly, self-employed, bonus, commission, and overtime borrowers.
- Collaborated with Loan Officers and Underwriters to address DTI concerns, clear conditions, and maintain compliance with agency guidelines.
- Reviewed automated underwriting findings (DU/LP) and ensured loan files met Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and FHA requirements prior to closing.
- Maintained current knowledge of agency guideline updates to ensure accurate loan processing and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications
- Previous mortgage industry experience required
- Strong income calculation experience required
- Solid understanding of mortgage guidelines and loan structuring
- Ability to analyze financial documentation and determine borrower eligibility
- Strong verbal communication skills and willingness to proactively make outbound calls
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Experience managing multiple files and deadlines simultaneously
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
