We’re looking for a self-motivated Owner Operator / Payroll Settlements Clerk to join our Fort Worth, Texas facility. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with 2–3 years of experience working with over-the-road owner operators and contractors, who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is ready to make an impact.
Location: Fort Worth, TX
Pay: $20 to $21 BOE ( based on experience )
Shift : 8am to 5:00pm - Mon - Friday
Temp to hire after 90 days
This role is ideal for someone with 2–3 years of experience in the transportation industry, specifically working with over-the-road owner operators and contractors. The right candidate will be detail-oriented, highly organized, and thrive in a fast-paced environment where accuracy and timeliness are critical.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensure morning fuel is pulled and accounted for
- Release and settle payroll for Owner Operators, Agents, and Broker Carriers
- Run and audit reports before and after check runs
- Process and distribute checks (every Thursday morning)
- Respond promptly to emails from Management and Accounting regarding information requests
- Update and create spreadsheets as needed
- Communicate effectively with Owner Operators, Agents, and terminal staff
- Request approvals for Com Checks and reimbursements
- Hand-enter pay on loads and key charges on trucks
- Enter monthly fuel tax charges
- Audit standing entry charges on trucks and trailers
Required Skills & Abilities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail
- Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Proficiency in 10-key/data entry
- Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Experience with AS400 / ICC, and Infinium (preferred)
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Dependable with excellent attendance
