Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items following established recipes and presentation standards
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, fryers, and knives
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, ensuring compliance with food safety management practices
- Assist in menu planning and ingredient preparation to support the culinary team
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal production and timing
- Handle food safely by adhering to proper food handling procedures and safety standards in production
- Support meal preparation for various service periods, ensuring timely delivery of quality dishes
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or restaurant settings with a focus on food safety standards
- Knowledge of dietary department practices and dietary aide experience is a plus
- Strong knife skills, slicing techniques, and familiarity with recipe adherence
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork within the kitchen staff
- Experience with food handling, sanitation, cleaning protocols, and safety standards in production
- Prior culinary or kitchen experience within the food industry or restaurant environment is highly desirable
