At CoreCivic, we do more than manage inmates, we care for people. CoreCivic is currently seeking Phlebotomists who have a passion for providing the highest quality care in an institutional setting. The Phlebotomist properly identifies patients, draws blood samples and sends to laboratory for analysis. May perform special tests such as clotting time, bleeding time and glucose tolerance tests, and reports results. Maintains records of test performed and blood samples taken. The incumbent should be able to perform all of the following functions at a pace and level of performance consistent with the job performance requirement.
1. Properly identifies patient and selects venipuncture equipment appropriate for test, draws blood specimens.
2. Monitor patient for negative reactions, and take appropriate measures to alleviate patient anxiety.'
3. Properly label all specimens and follow laboratory procedures for requisitions.
4. Adhere to strict antiseptic techniques for patient safety.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma, GED certification or equivalent or greater.
- Must possess a current certification from an approved formal nursing assistant program or equivalent program
- One year experience preferred.
- A valid driver's license is required.
- Minimum age requirement: Must be at least 21 years of age.
