Phlebotomist

Job Summary:

We are hiring experienced and licensed Phlebotomists (PHLEB) to provide temporary or relief services in correctional facilities. Candidates must hold an active California Phlebotomy Certification (CDPH-LFS) and meet the minimum experience requirements. This is a great opportunity to support underserved communities in a secure healthcare setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform venipuncture and finger sticks using standard equipment.
• Collect and process blood and non-blood specimens for testing.
• Label, centrifuge, and prepare specimens for analysis or transport.
• Follow institutional protocols and infection control procedures.
• Accurately input test orders and maintain proper documentation.
• Collaborate with medical staff and assist with difficult blood draws.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Qualifications:

• License: Active and valid California Phlebotomy Certification (CDPH-LFS).
• Experience: Minimum 6 months of recent (within the last 3 years) hands-on phlebotomy experience in a public or private healthcare setting (internship experience not accepted).
• Language Proficiency: Must be fluent in English and able to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
• Health Compliance: Must be compliant with 8 CCR 5199 standards, including current N95/PAPR medical clearance and annual respiratory protection training.
• Documentation: All certifications must be current and submitted at least 30 days before expiration to remain eligible.

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
• No weekends
