Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented FP&A (Financial Planning & Analysis) Analyst to join our finance team in Birmingham, Alabama. This role is responsible for supporting financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decision-making through data-driven insights. The ideal candidate will bring strong financial modeling skills, business acumen, and the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning
- Analyze financial performance, including variance analysis, trends, and key drivers
- Partner with business units to provide insights and recommendations for improving financial performance
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for leadership
- Assist in the annual budgeting process and ongoing forecasting cycles
- Identify opportunities for cost savings, revenue growth, and operational efficiency
- Support strategic initiatives through scenario modeling and financial analysis
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity across financial systems and reports
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in FP&A (Financial Planning & Analysis)
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Financial Analyst
- Strong proficiency in financial modeling and advanced Excel skills
- Experience with financial systems and ERP tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar)
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA, CFA, or CPA designation (or progress toward certification)
- Experience working in a corporate or multi-entity environment
- Familiarity with business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
