Summary/Objective
This position will provide full-time environmental health and safety support to the operations and ensure that all practices comply with regulatory requirements. The position will be responsible for coordinating regulatory programs, permitting applications, and required reporting. Additionally, the role will support the development, coordination, and delivery of training programs supporting Gaffney operations.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain the plant’s environmental, health and safety system in accordance with company policies and requirements to drive continuous improvement.
- Practice safe working techniques and reinforce the safety policies, guidelines, and procedures as set out by the Company.
- Provide daily guidance and direction in EHS programs at the employee/supervisor level to ensure a common and effective approach;
- Responsible for assisting in identifying possible losses, evaluating the risk in such loss exposure; developing and implementing a plan to correct or prevent a loss, and auditing the procedure to ensure its effectiveness.
- Maintain and update as needed SOPs for all safe work practices, processes, and equipment and utilize them in day-to-day training.
- Provide advice, assist, and audit line management to ensure effective EHS is implemented and working.
- Conduct employee EHS orientations, emergency response training, and emergency evacuation preparedness training.
- Ensure inspections by regulatory agencies are coordinated, and deficiencies are minimized and corrected.
- Conduct regular safety and environmental audits and report findings to Plant Leadership.
- Maintain all logs and documentation associated with permits and regulatory requirements;
- Responsible for coordinating regulatory programs and their applications and helping support the compliance process; supporting and providing relief for the environmental department.
- Research and write permit applications and work with an environmental group and be compliant in completing permit reporting requirements.
- Review accidents and incidents which occur in the area of responsibility and conduct field audits, reporting and managing the corrective actions.
- Maintain the plant in compliance with all local, state, and federal environmental, health and safety laws/regulations/code requirements, as well as corporate environmental, health and safety standards and requirements.
- Maintain filing systems regarding worker training and safety;
- Maintain working relationships with Regulatory Agencies and lead the Safety Committee for the Operation.
- Manage Team Base Risk Assessments and the process and conduct training need analysis regularly.
- Lead the Emergency Response Team and comply with all Company policies and procedures.
- Serve as the site ISO 14001 EMS Representative
- QMS Process owner for IATF16949:20016

Work Environment

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This position is full-time. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, and this position regularly requires long hours and weekend work.
Travel
Travel is limited and primarily local during the business day.
Required Education, Skills, and Experience
· BS or Associates in a scientific discipline
- 3 years of work experience in a manufacturing environment
- 2 years in an EH&S role
- At least 1 year of developing and delivering class room and shop floor training
- Track record of work stability and responsibility progression
- Fluency with OSHA guidelines and reporting requirements
- Fluency with Title V EPA requirements
- Fluency with Facility Storm Water regulations
- Strong understanding of work place ergonomics, machine guarding, confined spaces, ladder safety, etc.
- Ability to coach, train, and evaluate employees on Core’s manufacturing processes
- Competency with Office suite of products
- Excellent presentation skills
- Well-developed root cause analysis and problem solving skills
- Demonstrated mechanical interest and aptitude
- Committed to the safety of employees
- Highly organized with the ability to prioritize
