Shipping and Receiving Clerk

Summary

Core Molding Technologies is hiring a Shipping & Receiving Clerk to support inbound and outbound logistics operations at our Columbus manufacturing facility.

This role is responsible for coordinating shipments of raw materials, finished goods, tools, and equipment while ensuring accurate documentation, inventory control, and timely material movement to support production schedules and customer delivery commitments. The Shipping & Receiving Clerk works closely with Logistics, Production, Purchasing, and Warehouse teams to maintain efficient operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments of raw materials and finished goods
• Verify incoming shipments against packing slips and purchase orders; document discrepancies or damages
• Support daily import/export activities, including documentation for shipments to Mexico
• Prepare shipping paperwork, labels, and inventory transactions accurately and on time
• Maintain accurate inventory records through cycle counts and inventory audits
• Organize and maintain raw material, WIP, finished goods, racks, and service parts inventory locations
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently
• Coordinate with production, purchasing, warehouse, and logistics teams to support operational needs
• Track and resolve shipping discrepancies, delays, or damaged shipments with carriers and internal teams
• Maintain truck logs and support receiving activities for raw materials and hardware
• Support warehouse organization and supermarket inventory management
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment aligned with 5S and safety standards
• Ensure compliance with company procedures and applicable OSHA, DOT, and logistics requirements
• Support Shipping & Receiving operations with additional duties as assigned
  
  

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• 1–2 years of shipping, receiving, warehouse, or logistics experience preferred
• Manufacturing or industrial environment experience preferred
• Familiarity with shipping systems, freight carriers, and inventory management systems
• Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification required
• Strong attention to detail and inventory accuracy
• Basic computer and math skills
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  
  

Preferred

• Experience with ERP or warehouse inventory systems
• Experience supporting import/export or cross-border shipping activities
• Knowledge of inventory control and cycle count processes
• Experience operating forklifts or other material handling equipment

Job Details

• Schedule: Monday to Friday
• Travel: Up to 5%
• Work Environment: Manufacturing plant and warehouse environment
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift/move materials and supplies up to 25 lbs and operate material handling equipment
