Summary
Core Molding Technologies is hiring a Maintenance Manager to lead all maintenance operations, ensuring equipment reliability, uptime, and safe plant operations.
This role is responsible for preventive and predictive maintenance strategies, minimizing downtime, supporting production goals, and driving continuous improvement across equipment, utilities, and facility systems. The Maintenance Manager plays a key role in supporting new program launches, plant transfers (including DCPD operations), and sustaining existing operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the maintenance team, including supervisors, technicians, and support staff
- Drive performance across KPIs (safety, uptime, OEE, MTBF, MTTR, cost)
- Ensure equipment reliability and availability to meet production requirements
- Develop and execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs
- Lead installation, commissioning, and startup of equipment for new and transferred operations
- Maintain maintenance systems, documentation, and equipment history (PM programs, records)
- Define and manage critical spare parts inventory
- Analyze downtime, equipment performance, and reliability trends
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA, 8D) and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence
- Provide technical troubleshooting support to production teams
- Partner with Engineering on equipment validation and process requirements
- Support capital planning and execution for equipment and maintenance improvements
- Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 requirements
- Maintain calibration systems for monitoring and measuring equipment
- Ensure readiness of utilities and facility systems (electrical, compressed air, water, HVAC, fire protection)
- Ensure compliance with safety standards (LOTO, machine guarding, electrical safety)
- Support internal, external, and customer audits
- Promote 5S, safety, and environmental responsibility across the plant
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to improve reliability, efficiency, and cost performance
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related field
- 5–8 years of maintenance leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong experience with maintenance systems (preventive, predictive, corrective)
- Knowledge of equipment reliability and performance metrics (OEE, MTBF, MTTR)
- Experience with equipment installation, commissioning, and plant transfers
- Strong problem-solving skills (RCA, 8D, Six Sigma methodologies)
- Experience with manufacturing equipment, utilities, and facility systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) required
Preferred
- Experience in injection molding, composites, or similar manufacturing environments
- Experience with TPM or advanced maintenance systems
- Experience supporting new program launches or plant transfers (e.g., DCPD operations)
