The Role
We are looking for an Associate Account Manager to create long-term, trusting relationships with our customers. The Associate Account Manager’s role is to assist with a portfolio of assigned customers, help develop new business from existing clients and actively seek new sales opportunities. Responsibilities include developing strong relationships with customers, connecting with key business executives and stakeholders and preparing sales reports. In this role, you will liaise with cross-functional internal teams to improve the entire customer experience.
Responsibilities
- External and Internal Communication:
- Support the Account Manager in day-to-day communication with Walmart buying teams.
- Help respond to buyer requests and ensure timely follow-through.
- Assist in coordinating sample and milestone timelines with Product Development.
- Track outstanding Product Development tasks and provide updates to the Account Manager on project status.
- Product Management & Item Oversight:
- Support 1P item creation and maintenance by completing foundational steps in both external systems (i360, Supplier One) and internal trackers.
- Prepare and upload item content, imagery, ensuring PDPs are all up to standard.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to gather cost updates and replenishment details as needed.
- Flag any timeline risks or production concerns to the Account Manager for escalation.
- Reporting & Analytics:
- Initial pulls and preparation of weekly reporting, including feature reporting, modular reporting, and e-commerce reporting.
- Maintain clean, organized datasets to support the Account Manager’s analysis.
- Assist in pulling data and building preliminary analyses for Senior Account Manager and Senior Product Development.
- Collaboration & Strategy:
- Partner with Marketing to organize assets, track deadlines, and ensure all campaign requirements are met.
- Support the Account Manager by preparing materials and keeping tools, shared folders, and project trackers updated for strategy discussions and product launches.
Skills
- 1-2 years’ experience as a Junior Account Manager, Sales coordinator or relevant role.
- Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
- Goal-oriented, organized team player
- Self-motivated and self-directed
- Excellent interpersonal relationship skills
- Understanding of retailer accounts and their position in the industry
- Eagerness to learn and grow your business
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient experience with MS Office (particularly MS Excel and PowerPoint)
- Data orientated and ability to understand and analyze large data sets.
- Proven ability to juggle multiple account management projects at a time, while maintaining sharp attention to detail
- BA/BS degree in Business Administration, Sales or relevant field
