Marine Mechanic - Tug & Barge Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Marine Mechanic - Tug & Barge to join our team. As a key member of our electrical services group, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing complex electrical systems, performing routine maintenance and repairs, and supervising junior technicians. If you have a strong background in electrical work and excellent communication skills, we encourage you to apply.

Marine Mechanic - Tug & Barge Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair complex electrical systems
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on pumps and other equipment
  • Read and interpret one-line drawings
  • Use multi-meters, amp meters, and meggers to test and measure electrical systems
  • Terminate common types of electrical equipment
  • Supervise and train junior technicians
  • Assist in managing projects and providing on-call support
  • Work in adverse weather conditions and climb ladders, stairs, and gangways up to 25 feet in height
  • Operate company vehicles in a safe and courteous manner

Marine Mechanic - Tug & Barge Position Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Physical ability to lift and carry 50lbs for extended distances
  • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions and climb ladders, stairs, and gangways up to 25 feet in height
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and work above head for extended periods of time
  • Valid TWIC and driver's license
  • Clean driving record with no DWI convictions
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug and alcohol test
  • Previous experience in the electrical service industry
  • Good communications skills and professional manner in dealing with colleagues, management, and customers
