Barge Mechanic Level ll.

Responsibilities:
• Trouble shoot and diagnostics for service related as well as project related jobs on barge engines.
• In shop disassemble and reassemble of barge engine packages
• Preform engine PM services in the fleet on barges.
• Use power tools.
• On-call as directed or needed
• Travel occasionally for the company to work at other locations.
• Follow safety procedures.
• Any other duties as needed or directed by management as it relates to Rio Marine Inc. Operations.
• Rio Marine is a 24 hour a day 7 day a week operation and overtime is required.
Qualifications:
1. Education
• High School diploma or equivalent
1. Physical
• Ability to lift and carry 50lbs for extended distances.
• Ability to work in any and all adverse weather conditions.
• Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and gangways up to twenty-five feet in height.
• Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch and work above head for extended periods of time.
• Ability to operate Rio Marine vehicles in a safe and courteous manner.
1. Personal Background
• Must be capable of acquiring valid TWIC.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Must have a clean driving record with no DWI convictions.
• Must pass a criminal background check.
• Must be able to pass a drug and alcohol test.
• Travel occasionally for the company to work at other locations.
Practical Experience
• Previous experience on diesel engines (Cummins, John Deer, or Cat engines)
• Good communications skills
• Professional manner in dealing with other employees, management, and customers.
• Organizational Skills
