Job Summary
COPE seeks a compassionate, strategic, and highly capable Executive Director to lead the organization into its next chapter of growth and sustainability. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for a visionary executive who can balance trauma- informed service delivery with strong operational, financial, and fundraising leadership. The Executive Director serves as COPE's chief executive officer and primary ambassador, providing leadership across programs, operations, finance, fundraising, and community engagement. Working in close partnership with the Board of Directors, this role ensures that COPE's mission, values, and strategic priorities are carried out effectively and ethically.
Responsibilities
- Provide visionary leadership that aligns daily operations with COPE's mission and long-term goals.
- Oversee daily shelter and program operations, ensuring high-quality, survivor-centered services.
- Develop and manage the annual operating budget in collaboration with the Board. Ensure accurate financial reporting, internal controls, and fiscal sustainability.
- Formulate and implement a fundraising plan that includes individual, corporate, and foundation giving as well as grant funding.
- Build partnerships and a volunteer network to strengthen visibility and support fundraising efforts.
- Serve as COPE's primary spokesperson and maintain constructive relationships with local agencies, community partners, courts, and law enforcement.
Experience
- Leadership experience in nonprofit or human services organization.
- Experience supervising staff and successfully managing programs and operations.
- Financial literacy, including knowledge of budgeting and grant oversight.
