About the Role
We are seeking a Packaging Engineer to develop and optimize product packaging solutions that meet customer requirements while ensuring product protection, reliability, and cost efficiency. This role involves packaging design, validation, cost analysis, and cross-functional collaboration to support new product development and production.
This position also requires international travel to support packaging development and manufacturing at our overseas facilities.
Responsibilities
- Perform initial packaging design evaluation, cost analysis, and container loading optimization
- Design packaging solutions based on customer requirements and create 2D/3D drawings
- Conduct packaging trials, sample builds, and validation testing
- Support pilot production and analyze/resolve issues related to new packaging materials and designs
- Perform packaging reliability testing and verification
- Optimize existing packaging solutions to improve performance and reduce cost
- Communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical and production issues
- Travel to China to support packaging validation, production, and supplier coordination
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, Packaging Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum 2 years of experience in packaging structure design (paper-based packaging experience preferred)
- Proficient in Creo, AutoCAD, or similar design software
- Basic knowledge of packaging testing methods and standards
- Familiar with new product introduction (NPI) processes
- Understanding of various packaging materials and manufacturing processes
- Fluent in Mandarin and English is must (reading, writing, and speaking)
- U.S. work experience preferred
