Ministry Function:
The Grants Manager is responsible for assisting in developing and submitting grant proposals, researching grant opportunities, managing existing grants, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful grant coordination. This role combines grant writing with comprehensive project coordination to ensure funding goals align with Convoy of Hope’s mission and vision.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Researches and drafts persuasive grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and concept papers for Institutional foundations, Community Foundations, corporations, and government entities.
- Coordinates with internal teams to gather necessary information and documentation for grant applications.
- Tracks grant application deadlines, submission dates, and follow-up actions.
- Monitors and assists in the development of reports on the progress of granted projects to funders and stakeholders.
- Organizes and maintains comprehensive records of past and current grant proposals, awards, and documentation.
- Maintains a grants calendar to track deadlines for research, application submissions and required reporting.
- Works with the Senior Director - Foundation Relations to ensure all grant-funded activities adhere to donor restrictions and IRS regulations.
- Fulfills all other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Three years experience in professional grant writing or nonprofit development is required. A bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Nonprofit Management, or related field is preferred; a high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Proven track record of securing grants from multiple sources.
- Experience with project management and coordination.
- Experience in grant writing and coordination.
- Understanding of the grant application and reporting process.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in grant management software and databases.
- Exhibits strong Mac or PC proficiency and working knowledge of Google Workspace and Microsoft Office, with the ability to quickly learn Salesforce or other CRM systems as needed.
- Possesses strong analytical and research skills.
- Displays the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
