What are the responsibilities and job description for the System Analyst position at Convergenz?
The Finance Division is undergoing a large-scale modernization effort focused on transforming legacy accounting and finance systems. They’re seeking a hands-on Senior Systems Analyst who can bridge the gap between business users and technical teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with business users to understand requirements and coordinate within the technical team.
- Perform deep analysis from a technical standpoint — translating business requirements into system-level specifications.
- Run SQL/NoSQL queries, analyze data from RDBMS, NoSQL, and Snowflake sources, and support legacy system integrations.
- Collaborate with the UI/UX team to gather user input, review wireframes, and document system functionality.
- Create detailed documentation and write user stories in Gherkin format within an Agile framework (Jira, Confluence).
- Consolidate and present data from multiple finance lines of business.
- Support the modernization of legacy and subledger systems, improving financial reporting and accounting processes.
- Handle both structured and unstructured data as part of the modernization program.
Technical Environment & Tools:
- SQL / NoSQL / Snowflake
- RDBMS databases
- Jira, Confluence
- Legacy finance and accounting systems
Preferred Background:
- Strong analytical and system analysis experience (technical focus, not purely business analysis).
- Finance, accounting, or mortgage background strongly preferred (GL, subledger, FNMA, or Freddie Mac experience ideal).
- Understanding of accounting processes and finance data flows.
- Ability to adapt to shifting priorities within a 3–5 year modernization program.
Additional Notes:
- This role is part of the Multifamily Finance modernization initiative, under the Central Finance Office, focused on mortgage accounting.
