Job Description
We are looking for an experienced electrician to assist the on-site construction manager. Candidates must be familiar with electrical installations, electrical systems, and construction safety regulations. The electrician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical control wiring, power wiring, and communication wiring. The ideal candidate should have experience in commercial or industrial electrical systems, and be able to read blueprints, troubleshoot and fix electrical issues. Ultimately, the electrician’s role is to ensure that electrical installations and systems work efficiently and safely.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Construction Manager with duties as required by client.
- Install, repair, and maintain electrical wiring, circuits, fixtures, and equipment according to electrical codes and safety standards.
- Diagnose electrical problems such as power outages, short circuits, and voltage fluctuations, and implement corrective actions to restore functionality.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to plan and execute electrical installations accurately.
- Use multimeters, voltmeters, and other diagnostic tools to test electrical systems for proper operation, voltage, current, and resistance.
- Perform routine inspections, cleaning, and maintenance of electrical components to prevent breakdowns and ensure reliability.
- Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Work with contractors, project managers, and other tradespeople to coordinate electrical work and integrate systems with construction projects.
- Ensure all work adheres to local, state, and national electrical codes and safety regulations.
- Maintain records of daily operations, personnel, and using daily logbooks.
- Resolve work problems, recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality.
Qualifications
- Proficiency with electrical tools, hand tools, and testing equipment; ability to install and repair various electrical systems.
- Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues efficiently.
- Proficient in electrical systems, construction safety regulations, and be able to read elementary wiring diagrams, loop sheets, and P&ID diagrams.
- Ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Must be flexible and adapt to constant change.
- Completion of vocational training or apprenticeship.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, team members, and supervisors.
- Must have working knowledge of MS Office (Excel & Word).
- Ability to meet deadlines and solve problems.
- Must be willing and able to work holidays, weekends and extended hours as required for shutdowns.

Pay: $68,000.00 - $78,000.00 per year
