DIA has negotiated more than 250 contracts changes during the past 12 months valued at over $25 m. This position directly impacts design and construction costs.

About Our Job
Baccalaureate Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Political Science, or a related field.
Three years of experience concentrating on the analysis and implementation of cost estimating contracts, complex process and application involving multiple stakeholders.
A Master’s Degree in the specialty field may be substituted for one year of the required experience.
Additional appropriate experience may be substituted for the minimum education requirement on a year for year basis. ( 8 yrs of functional cost estimator negotiation work experience)
The ideal candidate will have 5 years experience as an estimator and 2 years in an aviation facilities environment negotiating construction contracts.

About Our Job
- The specialized nature of design construction and major maintenance projects at DIA requires experience by a skilled professional estimator and negotiator.
- Will negotiate with contractors during the change process in the best interest for DIA/City.
- With the Project Manager, review contractor change order proposals for consistency with the terms and conditions of the contract, and negotiate and resolve cost and time change issues with contractors.
- Assure that all documented business processes are tracked following the approved methodology.
- Project Cost and Schedule Control - Using accepted estimating and scheduling techniques, provide conceptual and detailed cost estimates and schedules to Project Managers as cost control tool.
- Provide conceptual and detailed cost estimates and schedules to FMT Team Coordinators to facilitate completion of capital improvement and operating budgets.
- Follow the standards, methodologies, and criteria for identifying agency readiness and acceptance.
- Develop, maintain, and cultivate collaborative relationships and programs using a liaison structure between contractors and project managers.
- Follow up with new processes implemented within the cost estimating application to maximize its effectiveness.
- Experience with claim evaluation and scheduling
- Experience with construction techniques and take-off from drawings
