Job Summary: The facilities maintenance technician in a beverage manufacturing facility plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of production equipment, facilities, and utilities while maintaining compliance with quality standards and safety regulations. This position requires a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to maintenance tasks to support uninterrupted production and product quality. Qualifications:
Education and Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in mechanical, electrical, or related field preferred.
- Previous experience as a maintenance mechanic in a beverage manufacturing or processing environment is a plus.
- Wastewater treatment plant experience a plus.
- Familiarity with sanitation standards (e.g., FDA, NSF) and quality management systems (e.g., ISO standards).
- Proficiency in reading technical manuals, schematics, and engineering drawings.
- Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting equipment issues.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintain cleanliness, orderliness, and safety in the workplace.
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts, weekends, and overtime as needed to support production schedules.
Physical Demands
- Vision, hearing, and speaking to meet performance standards
- Ability to stand and/or walk for long periods, push, pull, lift, climb, bend, stoop, squat, and use manual dexterity to work with hand tools, machines, etc.
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis and move heavier weights using proper equipment
Work Environment
Requires ability to work in an environment that may contain non-toxic fumes, dust, odors, moderate level noise, and temperature and ventilation variations while wearing any appropriate safety and/or protective clean room apparel (i.e.: safety glasses, safety shoes, gloves, hair net, face mask and lab coat/uniform)
