Job Description: EPC Project Manager – Utility Scale Solar
Location: Illinois (Travel as needed; potential relocation to Irvine, CA)
Compensation: $120K–$150K
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced EPC Project Manager to oversee utility-scale solar projects. This role focuses on managing the full EPC scope of work, including design, permitting, procurement, construction, and closeout. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of experience running solar projects at the EPC level, preferably with electrical contractors or general contractors in the renewable energy space.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage the design phase from LNTP to IFC plans.
- Obtain all construction permits and ensure timely receipt per schedule.
- Engage in budget updates as design matures; communicate changes to stakeholders.
- Lead and mentor supporting team members (Logistics Manager, Quality Manager, Assistant PMs, Admins).
- Drive the project through design, permitting, procurement, construction, and closeout.
- Oversee procurement scopes to ensure timely and cost-effective purchasing.
- Perform monthly cost forecasting and maintain financial health reporting.
- Monitor project accounting software for cost control compliance.
- Oversee and update construction schedules; coordinate weekly with schedulers.
- Maintain client communication and ensure contract compliance.
- Manage subcontractor performance, formal notices, and subcontract changes.
- Generate and track change orders and ensure proper execution.
Qualifications:
- 3–5 years of EPC-level solar project management experience.
- Strong understanding of utility-scale solar construction.
- Experience with electrical contractors or GC market in renewable energy.
- Ability to travel as needed; open to relocation.
- PMP certification preferred; OSHA 30 a plus.
- Familiarity with major EPC contractors is a plus.
Salary : $120,000 - $150,000
