Role Overview: The Respiratory Therapist II provides advanced respiratory care, medication administration, and patient assessment in complex care settings, primarily critical care areas.
Key Responsibilities: Deliver patient-centered care, perform ventilator management, airway procedures, arterial blood gas analysis, and collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement treatment plans. Educate patients, support staff, and mentor new employees. Ensure a safe, high-quality environment by promoting evidence-based practices, accurate documentation, and patient safety initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills: Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy program with associate's degree required; bachelor's preferred. Valid NBRC-RRT, RCP, BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications are required. 0-2 years of clinical experience with at least 6 months in critical care. Strong communication, critical thinking, customer service, and computer skills are essential.
Additional Duties: Participate in quality improvement, support educational activities, and adhere to institutional policies and standards.
