Registered Nurse Manager (RN) | Med Surg

Role Overview: Responsible for managing a patient care unit, including daily operations, long-term planning, staff development, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. Collaborates with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee unit operations, providing staff direction, orientation, education, and professional development.
• Maintain standards of care, practice, and staff competency through ongoing training and education programs.
• Manage staffing levels, position control, and scheduling in collaboration with nursing leadership.
• Stay current with clinical practices, evidence-based care, reimbursement policies, and regulations.
• Assist with budgeting, ensuring financial objectives are met.
• Develop and implement policies, procedures, and protocols to promote patient safety and compliance.
• Handle patient and customer relations, including complaint resolution and service recovery.
• Hire, train, evaluate, and retain staff, fostering a positive team environment.
  
  

Qualifications & Skills

• Active RN license in the practice state.
• NRP and PALS certification required.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in nursing and 1-3 years of leadership experience.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and leadership skills.
• Ability to perform essential functions, including visual acuity and effective communication.
