Intermediate Interior Designer / Project Manager

About the Studio
Our client is a published, high-end residential interior design firm based in San Francisco, known for refined, detail-driven work and long-standing relationships with discerning clients.
The Role
This is a hands-on Interior Designer / Project Manager role for someone eager to take ownership of projects from concept through installation. You’ll work closely with the Studio Director and internal team while managing multiple residential projects both in-state and out-of-state.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Studio Director and design team on programming, design development, decoration, and planning
- Produce plans, elevations, and custom furniture drawings in AutoCAD
- Manage FF&E sourcing, budgeting, scheduling, and procurement
- Create and maintain detailed FF&E specification schedules and project documentation
- Prepare client presentations, proposals, and design packages
- Coordinate with architects, contractors, vendors, and fabricators
- Track project status, follow up on action items, and ensure design quality and accuracy
- Take the lead on smaller projects and project-manage larger, complex projects
- Interface directly with high-profile clients with discretion and professionalism

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interior Architecture, Interior Design, or Architecture
- 8–12 years of experience in a high-end residential interior design firm
- Proven experience managing full-cycle, complex residential projects
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD
- Strong working knowledge of Adobe InDesign and Photoshop
- Deep understanding of materials, fabrics, millwork, custom furnishings, and specifications
- Extensive familiarity with San Francisco design trade resources and showrooms
- Knowledge of NYC, LA, and European sources is a plus
- Ability to work under deadlines in a busy, creative environment
- Valid driver’s license and access to a car (or car share)
Work Environment & Travel
- In-office position with regular team meetings and design presentations
- Frequent visits to showrooms, vendor workrooms, warehouses, and job sites
- Occasional out-of-state travel required
Compensation & Benefits
💰 $120,000 – $150,000
