Location: Pascagoula, MS
Pay: $40 - $48/hour (Based on Experience)
Per Diem: $180/day

Job Summary
Ingalls Shipbuilding is hiring 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Class Pipefitters to join one of the nation's premier shipbuilding programs. Pipefitters are responsible for the layout, fit-up, fabrication, installation, and repair of piping systems using materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel, copper, copper-nickel, and galvanized pipe. Candidates will work from blueprints and drawings to install pipe, flanges, valves, and fittings while maintaining strict quality and safety standards.
Work may include new construction aboard naval vessels in environments that involve confined spaces, heights, varying weather conditions, and day or night shifts.
Experience Requirements
3rd Class Pipefitter
- Minimum 2 years of pipefitting experience
- Basic knowledge of pipe layout, fit-up, fabrication, and installation
- Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and drawings
- Basic math and measuring skills
2nd Class Pipefitter
- Minimum 2-3 years of pipefitting experience
- Strong knowledge of pipe systems, valves, flanges, and fittings
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints using both standard and metric measurements
- Experience fitting and installing various piping materials with minimal supervision
1st Class Pipefitter (Journeyman)
- Minimum 4 years of pipefitting experience
- Advanced knowledge of pipe layout, fabrication, installation, and alignment
- Ability to independently read and interpret complex blueprints and isometric drawings
- Experience working with steel, stainless steel, copper, copper-nickel, and galvanized pipe
- Ability to troubleshoot installation issues while maintaining production quality standards
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of trade experience (classification based on experience)
- Basic math, reading, and comprehension skills
- Knowledge of pipe layout, fit-up, fabrication, installation, flanges, and valves
- Ability to read and interpret trade drawings and blueprints
- Experience using both standard and metric measurements
- Commitment to working safely in a fast-paced industrial environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Marine, shipbuilding, heavy industrial, or construction experience
- Strong blueprint reading and layout skills
- Experience with fit-up, alignment tolerances, and shipboard piping systems
- Ability to work any shift, including overtime as needed
