Constellation Search Group is looking for an IT Systems Administrator for a full-time direct hire position. The IT Systems Administrator is responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of the organization's IT infrastructure. This role encompasses managing virtualized environments, cloud services, endpoint platforms, networking, and storage systems to guarantee high availability and a secure, efficient user experience. Acting as a technical escalation point, the Systems Administrator collaborates with internal teams to maintain and enhance IT services continuously.
Responsibilities:
- Administer and maintain virtual infrastructure, including VMware vCenter and ESXi, ensuring optimal performance, capacity planning, and availability.
- Manage and support the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, covering Exchange Online, Azure/Entra ID, identity governance, and access controls.
- Oversee Microsoft Intune and endpoint management solutions for device compliance, application deployment, and security policies.
- Administer core networking infrastructure, including switching, firewalls, VPNs, and general network troubleshooting.
- Manage and monitor storage environments, including SAN and enterprise storage solutions.
- Implement, monitor, and test backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans.
- Perform system patching, updates, and vulnerability remediation following best practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure incidents, outages, and escalated technical issues.
- Develop and maintain system documentation, diagrams, procedures, and operational runbooks.
- Assist with infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and IT projects.
- Collaborate with vendors, service providers, and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure systems comply with security policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in systems administration or IT infrastructure roles.
- Hands-on experience with VMware virtualization platforms (vCenter, ESXi).
- Experience managing Microsoft 365, including Exchange and Azure/Entra ID.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Intune or similar endpoint management tools.
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, switching, firewalls).
- Experience supporting storage platforms or SAN/NAS environments.
- Proven ability to independently troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues.
- Strong documentation, communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience with hybrid or cloud-first infrastructure.
- Scripting and automation skills (PowerShell, Bash, or Python).
- Industry certifications (Microsoft, VMware, CompTIA, or similar).
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Attention to detail and proactive mindset.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Customer-focused approach to IT service delivery.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical users.
- On-site daily in corporate office.
- Occasional after-hours or on-call support required.
