Constellation Search Group is looking for a Senior Software Engineer for a full-time direct hire position. This role is ideal for a developer who enjoys the challenge of understanding complex systems and optimizing them, working across two large-scale enterprise products. The successful candidate will work on mastering the intricate internal workings of these systems, handling tasks ranging from user interface components to deep SQL stored procedures. This position is well-suited for a disciplined coder who enjoys solving complex puzzles in legacy environments.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and modernize two extensive codebases, addressing both critical bug fixes and feature enhancements.
- Work seamlessly across C# and VB.NET environments, ensuring consistency and stability across both product lines.
- Develop and optimize complex SQL Server stored procedures to ensure data accuracy in forensic records.
- Build and refine desktop interfaces using WinForms and professional UI toolkits like Infragistics and DevExpress.
- Implement and test complex business rules and "Chain of Custody" logic to comply with strict regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with senior architects and QA teams to perform root-cause analysis on complex system behaviors.
Qualifications:
- 3–5 years of experience with .NET Framework (v4.8).
- Proficiency in C# and VB.NET, with the ability to read, debug, and write code in both languages.
- Practical experience in building or maintaining Windows desktop applications using WinForms.
- Strong SQL Server skills, including writing stored procedures and managing data without relying on modern ORMs.
- Familiarity with third-party toolkits such as Infragistics and DevExpress is a plus.
- Comfort working within a massive, N-tier monolithic architecture.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Development, or a related field.
