Accounts Payable Specialist

Constellation Search Group is looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk for a full-time direct hire position. This role involves processing vendor purchase orders and invoices accurately and timely. The Accounts Payable Clerk manages payments to vendors and closely collaborates with the Controller to ensure precise and prompt financial transactions.

Responsibilities:

• Enter purchase orders manually or electronically, ensuring accuracy concerning job numbers, account postings, and items.
• Review and close purchase orders as necessary, maintaining cost accuracy.
• Match vendor invoices with purchase orders, coding to appropriate jobs and accounts, and resolve disputed invoices.
• Determine sales and use tax applicability on vendor invoices.
• Process payments to vendors via check or ACH, ensuring payments are within discount terms when available.
• Review vendor statements to address past due or disputed invoices.
• Provide backup for co-workers, including limited telephone duties and assist with additional tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

• Associate's degree in Accounting or equivalent education/experience required.
• 2-5 years of professional accounting experience required.
• Technical accounting knowledge and skills required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required.
• Construction industry accounting experience preferred.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities.
• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and high degree of integrity.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, self-driven environment and work efficiently under pressure.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
• Collaborative approach with ability to work effectively in a team environment.
