What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanical Drafter position at Consolidated Equipment Group?
Job Summary:
Provide detailed working diagrams of engineered products prior to production release, including dimensions, fastening methods and other engineering information. Assists in preparation and dissemination of the Bills of Materials for new products and revisions to existing products. Assists in the creation and maintenance of product manuals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. (Other duties may be assigned):
- Creates detailed design drawings and specifications for products according to engineering 3D models and design proposals and keeps them up to date
- Prepares and enters BOM for new and revised products into the ERP system
- Communicates additions and revisions in BOM to both internal and external recipients during the ECN process
- Creates 3D parts illustrations for product reference manuals
- Organize and maintain electronic files of current drawings.
- Answer routine questions related to engineering drawings and escalating questions to assigned engineer as needed.

Education and/or Experience:
- Experienced user of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and various engineering and design CAD products (Autodesk Inventor preferred)
- Minimum of two-year mechanical drafting degree
- Strong communications and interpersonal capabilities
- Smart and exceptional organizational skills, detail oriented, and the ability to handle multiple priorities
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Self-motivated with an ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced work environment
- Integrity that is above reproach
