What are the responsibilities and job description for the ESL Aide position at Conroe Independent School District?
To facilitate and assist in providing a quality program of instruction designed to meet the affective, linguistic and cognitive needs of limited English proficient students.
- Assist ESL teacher in providing quality instruction for limited English proficient students.
- Support and carry out activities related to the ESL program.
- Perform duties involving the supervision of students.
- Communicate with students, teachers, staff, and parents.
- Present a positive role model for students.
- Demonstrate interest and initiative in professional improvement.
- Maintain a professional relationship with all colleagues, students, parents, and community leaders.
- Regular attendance.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Previous work with children in job-related capacity or volunteer work
- Experience related to working with students or parents as approved by the employing superintendent
- Experience may be work in church-related schools, day camps, youth groups, private schools, licensed day-care centers, or similar agencies or institutions
Education/Certification:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Texas educational aide certificate (must obtain within 30 days of employment)

- Knowledge of special language
- Ability to work well with others
- Positive human relations skills
- Appreciation of and patience with children
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Positive work performance regarding promptness, attendance and productivity

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environment Factors: Maintain emotional control under stress. Occasional district travel; occasional prolonged and irregular hours.
