Duties
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or Quicken, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded
- Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger account reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy and integrity
- Prepare and process journal entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
- Maintain organized records of tax documentation, governmental filings, and other compliance-related documents
- Support administrative tasks including correspondence management, data entry (including 10 key typing), scheduling, and document filing
Requirements
- Proven experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms; familiarity with GAAP standards is essential
- Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles, including double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, debits & credits, and general ledger accounting
- Ability to perform account reconciliation tasks such as bank reconciliation and account analysis accurately and efficiently
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in 10 key typing for data entry accuracy; strong attention to detail is critical
- Knowledge of payroll processing and technical accounting concepts preferred
- Effective communication skills for collaborating across departments and preparing clear financial reports
